1980 Yamaha SG-1000 Double Cutaway Electric Guitar (Cherry Sunburst) (w/ OHSC)

First introduced in the mid-1960s, the famous Yamaha SG series of guitars was Yamaha's first venture into electric guitar manufacturing, although differed significantly in design from the typical "SG" shape we all know and recognise today and the one on display here (think Flying Samurais and Bananas). This design came about in 1974 with the SG-175 and SG-90, which later evolved into the SG-2000 and SG-1000 series of guitars (among a few other big numbers).

Laminated "sandwich" mahogany body with a carved maple top, the SG-1000 series is essentially a double-cut carved top Les Paul with some seriously kick-ass factory splittable humbuckers, decorative hardware and binding and the classic Japanese quality we're all familiar with.

This one is in good used condition for its age with no shortage of dings, chips and dents. All wear is honest however and the guitar certainly aligns with it's equally worn, sticker-bombed original hard shell case. If this guitar could talk I'm sure it would have some stories to tell! Thankfully it's been professionally serviced and setup with 10-46s so you can keep telling the story. Despite the wear, the guitar has absolutely no structural issues whatsoever and feels rock solid. The guitar has been refretted at some stage and has a new nut installed. Aside from a missing pickguard, she's all original and ready to rock. As mentioned, comes with it's rare OHSC!

How much is shipping?

We offer free Australia-wide shipping for orders over $200 via standard courier services. For smaller items such as small parts and screws, we send via Australia Post regular mail service. All items below $200 incur a flat $8.99 shipping charge. Express services are also available at an extra cost, just select it at the checkout and we'll get your order out extra fast!

How long does shipping take?

It varies based on the destination and the products ordered. Orders for items that are in stock with our Lewisham store "135 New Canterbury Road, Lewisham 2049", are usually shipped same day, however items ordered from "Deep Tone Warehouse Supply" are special order items that are not stocked in the store. These items can take 2-4 business days to arrive to us from the supplier; from there, the item will be dispatched from our store and the nominated method of shipping will be followed:

For "Standard" shipping:
  • VIC, SA and NSW: 2-4 days
  • QLD: 3-5 days
  • NT, WA and TAS: 5-10 days +
For "Express" shipping:
  • VIC, SA and NSW: 1-2 days
  • QLD: 1-2 days
  • NT, WA and TAS: 1-3 days

These estimates do not apply if the destination is regional or remote. Once orders leave our warehouse we have no control over the actual shipping time, however we'll do everything we can to ensure a prompt and problem-free delivery experience.
