The Orange Acoustic Pre is the world’s first stereo valve acoustic preamp/active DI, built for uncompromising performers on stage and in the studio. Channel A’s ECC83/12AX7 valve circuit captures the full nuance of acoustic instruments, with a heat control to revoice the channel from warm flatpicking to sparkling fingerstyle; Channel B is a softer-voiced solid-state channel with microphone or instrument input and switchable 48V phantom power. Both channels can run independently or blended, each with a 3-band EQ, semi-parametric mid, and independent effects loops and balanced DI outputs. Handmade in the UK, it’s already found its way into the touring rigs of Stevie Wonder and Martin Taylor MBE.

Features:

  • Channel A: ECC83/12AX7 valve circuit with heat control for tone shaping
  • Channel B: solid-state with microphone/instrument input and switchable 48V phantom power
  • Independent 3-band EQ with semi-parametric mid on each channel
  • Onboard stereo reverb
  • Independent effects loops and balanced DI outputs per channel
  • Phase inversion and ground lift switches on both channels

Specifications:

  • Channel A and B Mid: ±18dB, 180Hz–1.8kHz
  • Bass/Treble Shelving: ±12dB/+15dB @ 680Hz
  • Connections: 2 × Balanced XLR Outputs, 2 × FX Loops, 1 × Mono Line Output
