First starting as a classical string company in the late 1950s, Shiro Arai's "Aria" string importing company quickly blossomed into guitar importation, and later manufacturing in the 1960s after great success and growth in string and guitar sales in Japan. As demand grew, Aria contracted Matsumoku Industrial, a woodworking company based in Matsumoto, Nagano, to produce Aria guitars. Matsumoku previously built cabinets for Singer sewing machines as well as cabinets for televisions and home audio products for various companies, but after Singer moved cabinet production to the Philippines during the early ’60s, Matsumoku shifted its focus to musical instrument manufacturing.

The 1532T was introduced in 1968 and was widely successful due to it's beautiful offset, angular design, high quality mahogany timber construction and great sounding pickups. This is a superb and all original example of a 1532T in fantastic condition and without a single part changed or modified.

In a vibrant 3 tone sunburst finish, the guitar is free from any significant wear or structural issues and plays and sounds incredible for its age. Professionally setup with 10-46s, the 23.6" scale neck plays beautifully with original frets at a solid 98% with almost no wear at all. All electronics are healthy and the pickups are glorious in all their vintage tone.
