The Terada C 307N is a beautifully crafted Japanese guitar from the 1970s, originating from Nagoya, Japan. Although not a high end model by any means, this guitar combines classic styling with premium Japanese wood to produce a lightweight, resonant instrument. The figured spruce top paired with mahogany back and sides gives it a visually striking look as well as warm, balanced acoustic tone, making it an excellent example of vintage Japanese luthiery.

The mahogany neck features a comfortable wide “C” profile with a full 25.5" scale length and a glossy polyurethane finish, offering a smooth surface for classical runs. The rosewood fingerboard is flat and fitted with 19 vintage-style brass frets, providing excellent playability and a rich, nuanced response. Fret life is surprisingly intact considering the age of the instrument, with approximately 95% life left. The 50mm nut completes the setup, ensuring consistent string spacing with plenty of room for movement across the strings.

As a classical-style instrument, the C 307N is non-electric and comes with no pickups, keeping the tonal character purely acoustic. Its combination of spruce and mahogany yields a warm, articulate voice with strong projection and clarity, perfect for fingerstyle, light strumming, or recording applications.

In excellent vintage condition, this Terada C 307N shows playwear consistent with its age, with the gloss finish still bright and vibrant and no cracks or structural issues, but plenty of vibey playwear in the form of worn out finish, chips and dings. Professionally setup with Dunlop classical strings, its playing beautifully with low action, a straight neck and solid intonation. A solid and rare example of 1970s Japanese craftsmanship, this Terada is a fun and inexpensive way to enter the vintage acoustic market.
