1977 Greco EG-500 Les Paul Standard Flame Maple Top Tobacco Sunburst (w/ HSC) (MIJ Fujigen)
Made in the famed Fujigen factory in 1977, this beautiful EG-500 Les Paul Standard features a bookmatched and heavily flamed maple top finished in a beautifully brown tobacco sunburst finish. Sporting a mixture of original and replaced vintage parts, this is a tastefully customised EG-500 with all of its cream components having been replaced with black to create a darkened look and vibe to this instrument, whilst a set of hot vintage humbuckers have been installed to hot rod the sound and provide plenty of hard rock tones at your disposal.
The maple neck features cream binding on a 24.75" rosewood fingerboard and has a particularly slim and fast carve to it, likened to a slightly slimmer-than-slim taper Gibson profile that feels fantastic and fast in the hands. This EG-500 has also had a professional refret with a slightly larger fret wire than original equipped at the factory, meaning note articulation and playability has a slightly more modern and composed feel to it.
A well loved and played instrument, this EG-500 has its share of cosmetic dings, scratches and chips, however presents extremely well for a 45+ year old instrument and has plenty more to give. Free from any structural cracks, breaks or repairs, the finish does show moderate chipping in some areas, however all is honest wear and poses no issue to playability or structural integrity.
Professionally serviced top to bottom and professionally setup with 10-46s, the action is smooth and low with no buzzing or dead spots with fret life at approximately 95%. The guitar has excellent composure and playability suitable for a wide range of styles and genres. As an added bonus, a 70s era Les Paul hard case with gold lining is included with the guitar, so this thing is gig ready!
