1979 Greco EG-600 Ace Frehley "Budokan" Triple Humbucker Les Paul Custom (MIJ Fujigen)
One of the rarer models from the Greco catalog, the EG-600 was Greco's not-so-signature triple pickup LP with a clear nod to one particular member of a band that liked to wear excessive makeup. Made in 1979, this particular EG-600 is an excellently presented example and sports a mahogany body with a 3-piece maple top in classic 70s style. The maple top has some of the finest grain lines we've seen and makes this guitar really pop in its vibrant sunburtst finish. Featuring a triple pickup configuration and gold hardware throughout, this is the perfect EG-600 for any Kiss fan or anyone just looking for a versatile vintage guitar!
The 3 piece maple neck has been expertly carved to the perfect slim taper profile with heavily rolled fingerboard edges and fret nibs up the sides of the frets for smooth playing. The rosewood fingerboard has 22 medium frets that are on the low side but are smooth and playable with approximately 80% life left.
Without a doubt the most versatile of pickup configurations, the triple humbucker Les Paul with its added middle pickup adds fantastic versatility and expands the tonal palette significantly. Featuring a triple set of U-1000 Maxon humbuckers, these offer up some excellent rock tones but will also clean up nicely for just about any style of music.
Professionally serviced and setup with 10-46s, the guitar plays incredibly smoothly with a nice low action and accurate intonation. Condition wise, the guitar presents excellently with only light playwear and moderate wear on the brass plated hardware. The guitar solid and is free from any structural issues.
