Sporting one of the most figured maple caps we've ever seen on any Les Paul, let alone a Greco from 1979, this EG-800 was made in the era when Gibson was moving far away from their classic late 50s designs and construction and companies like Greco were getting closer and closer. No weight relief, no chambering, this is a solid hunk of mahogany with a solid piece of maple with some seriously intense birds eye figuring! The sunburst perfectly shows off all the nuances of the grain and oh man, we could stare at this thing for hours. The rest of the guitar is absolutely sublime as well; a nice wide, medium profile 60s style neck sporting a 9.5" radius with original frets and untouched fret nibs, original "G" stamped machine heads and a wicked set of vintage early 80s PAF-esque DiMarzios being the only modifications to this insanely cool example.
Freshly serviced and setup with 10-46s, the frets have only mild pitting and playability is great with a nice low action. No cracks, breaks or structural issues whatsoever, this guitar is classic Les Paul through and through and will take on any vintage or modern rival ... and almost definitely win!
