1983 Ibanez Artist AR-100 Cherry Sunburst Double Cut (CIJ Fujigen)

First debuted in 1974, The Ibanez Artist series was a Les Paul Double Cut-focused competitor with custom appointments such as flame caps, multi-ply binding and advanced pickup switching. These are absolutely phenomenal guitars and represent some of the finest luthierie Fujigen had to offer in the 70s and 80s. This particular model is an AR-100 and features an arched flame maple top on a double-cutaway mahogany body mated to a set-in three-piece maple neck.

The 24.75" medium D neck is in "slim taper" territory with an excellent Gibson-like quality to it and is finished in a high gloss urethane, whilst 22 medium frets on the rosewood fingerboard are easily accessed thanks to the double cut design. Fret wear is very mild with approximately 90% fret life left with virtually no pitting or dents visible. All hardware on the headstock is original and in excellent condition, although most of the brass plating has rubbed off from use.

The Super 58 humbuckers are sitting in perfect "PAF" territory with a mid-7kOhm resistance reading, which is a real sweet spot for humbuckers. These pickups offer excellent articulation note response with beautiful, thick warmth you can expect to hear from 40 year old humbuckers. Both pickups can be split into a single coil mode independantly, offering an extra level of sonic versatility.

In 100% original and fantastic condition, this AR-100 has been professionally setup with 10-46s and is playing like a dream. In terms of wear and tear, there isn't a whole lot, with the odd ding and dent here and there and some light scratches on the clear coat finish. The guitar is structurally perfect with no cracks, breaks or repairs. Look no further for a clean and original Ibanez AR-100!
