Made in the famed Fujigen factory in 1983 according to the pencil date on the neck, this is a rare and desirable offshoot of the JV series known as a CST-55 Stratocaster. Designed to immitate a CBS-era Strat, guitars in the CST series feature 3-bolt neck plates, big headstocks with bullet truss rod nuts, cast block saddles and custom colours. This one wears a lake placid blue finish over an ash body and is aged to perfection.

Featuring a solid maple neck and a nicely figured and dark rosewood fingerboard, this particular Strat features a neck carve that is slightly narrower compared to others from the same era. If you prefer thinner necks, this would be an ideal fit for you. 70s style medium frets have some pitting present but still have plenty of life left at approximately 70%. 42mm nut width with a bone nut, the large headstock features its original Fender branded machine heads, bullet truss rod for ease of neck and adjustment and even the original pricing sticker on the back of the headstock!

Equipped with its original electronics and pickups, this CST-55 features a trio of original Fender Japan flat pole alnico single coils that offer up all the classic single coil tones you could desire. These pickups measure in the mid to high 5-6kOhm range which is the perfect output for a wide range of styles and genres. These pickups can handle anything from jazz to blues, punk to hard rock.

Coming to us covered in a thick layer of dust, dirt and corrosion, this guitar has been thoroughly dismantled, cleaned and serviced with every inch of it receiving the love it deserved before being put back together and being professionally setup with 10-46s. Condition wise, the guitar certainly has its fair share of dings, chips and dents indicating the guitar was well loved, however it's 100% original aside from a new set of control knobs and free from any structural issues. It's playing very nicely with a smooth action, a straight neck and accurate intonation. Comes with a brown leather gig bag!
