Made by the famed Fujigen factory some time between 1984-87 (based off the E serial number), this is a Fender Boxer Jazz Bass Special and it's certainly a far cry from a traditional Jazz Bass! The Boxer series was aimed to be a modern take on classic designs updated for the 1980s and the range contained lots of pointy guitars, Floyd Rose equipped Strats and Teles and all sorts of crazy metal guitars. The Boxer Jazz bass is equipped with a hefty set of angled PJ pickups, a 32" scale length, a TBX tone circuit and total blackout hardware to make for the ultimate 80s shredder bass.

The 32" scale neck means playing this is a breeze for guitar players or anyone who enjoys the feel of smaller, guitar-esque bass proportions. 20 medium size frets, 40mm nut width and a gloss black finish on the entirety of the neck exluding the fingerboard with a heel access truss rod.

In good original condition for its age, the gloss black finish shows moderate amounts of wear with signs of swirling and scratches present, however all is honest wear and non-structural. Professionally setup with 45-100s, frets are at about 85% with mild wear and playability is smooth with a nice low action. We've also installed a brand new jack socket, new pickup mounting screws and 3 new control knobs.

We offer free Australia-wide shipping for orders over $200 via standard courier services. For smaller items such as small parts and screws, we send via Australia Post regular mail service. All items below $200 are a flat $8.99 shipping rate. Express services are also available at an extra cost, just select it at the checkout and we'll get your order out extra fast!

How long does shipping take?

It varies based on the destination and the products ordered. Orders for items that are in stock with our Lewisham store "135 New Canterbury Road, Lewisham 2049", are usually shipped same day, however items ordered from "Deep Tone Warehouse Supply" are special order items that are not stocked in the store. These items can take 2-4 business days to arrive to us from the supplier; from there, the item will be dispatched from our store and the nominated method of shipping will be followed:

For "Standard" shipping:
  • VIC, SA and NSW: 2-4 days
  • QLD: 3-5 days
  • NT, WA and TAS: 5-10 days +
For "Express" shipping:
  • VIC, SA and NSW: 1-2 days
  • QLD: 1-2 days
  • NT, WA and TAS: 1-3 days
