Without a doubt one of the coolest models in the Greco catalog, the APB-1000 is Greco Japan's take on the famous Ampeg Lucite Bass designed by Dan Armstrong in the late 60s. Very hard to tell apart from the original, these are spec'd out to be very similar to their Ampeg counterparts with a 24 fret super fast neck, laminated wooden pickguard (yes, real wood!) and even the quirky headstock design and truss rod cover. Differing from the original, the APB-1000 is loaded with a red hot twin blade humbucker with circuit bypass switch for wide open tone, as well as a fully intonatable and adjustable 4 saddle bridge in favour of the sliver of wood found on the Ampegs.

Featuring a 3-piece maple/walnut/maple neck sporting a 30.3" scale length, the short scale nature makes this an extremely playable neck and accessible for guitar players and bass players alike. A slender C profile offers great comfort and the satin finish makes playing fast a breeze. The rosewood fingerboard has a total of 24 medium sized frets in fantastic shape with approximately 95% fret life with very little wear visible.

The APB-1000 comes equipped with Greco's "Rock-Bullet Bass" humbucker, an absolutely ripping twin blade humbucker reading a massive 15.2kOhms, meaning plenty of mid-range bark and honk, huge low end and articulate top end. The electronics are equipped with a mini-toggle that allows the pickup to bypass the loading of the potentiometers and go direct to the jack socket for huge, uninterrupted bass tone.

This one is in really great condition for it's age, and although these originally ship with wooden laminated pickguard that is prone to fracturing easily, we've professionally milled a replacement acrylic pickguard and pickup surround to make this the ultimate transparent bass! Almost no fret wear on this one, fret life is sitting around 97% and the acrylic body is in great shape. Freshly setup with 45-100s, the neck has been adjusted, intonation is perfect and the bass plays and sounds amazing.
