A model that rarely surfaces from boutique guitar manufacturer Combat Guitars, the "ROX" series of guitars were crafted in the 1990s and took not particularly subtle inspiration from another 3 letter brand of guitars and amplifiers. The Mark VI Teardrop, originally released by Vox in the mid-1960s, is one of the most iconic and unique guitar shapes of all time and is captured perfectly in this ROX iteration. Crafted to an extremely high standard and making use of quality Gotoh hardware, this is the perfect Teardrop for anyone who's budget can't quite stretch to an original.

Featuring a 25.5" scale gloss finished maple neck with a rosewood fingerboard, it has gently rolled fingerboard edges for maximum comfort and playability, whist the frets are a low medium style with a gentle crown to them. Frets are solid in terms of life with some light playwear visible but with loads of meat on the bone at around 95% life. This guitar features a unique 0 fret appointment for improved intonation and tuning stability, as well as a 12" radius making this neck perfect for high bends without choke out.

The electronics have been tastefully modified on this particular ROX, featuring an aftermarket set of lipstick single coils for classic 60s tones, as well as a Stratocaster "Blender" style wiring which allows for typical 5-way switching, plus the added benefit of having both neck and bridge together or all 3 pickups on. To say this guitar is versatile is certainly an understatement, with a wide variety of tones available here. The lipstick pickups take gain wonderfully and break up in a crunchy and warm fashion, as well as offering shimmering clean tones.

Professionally setup and serviced with 10-46s, this guitar is in fantastic condition for its age with only a few light scuffs and marks present (as well as one larger finish chip on the lower curve of the body that has been filled and buffed to prevent further chipping). Playing like an absolute dream boat with a smooth, low action and a straight neck, this is a serious contendor to a genuine Vox and a fantastic guitar in its own right!
