Crafted in Japan during the highly regarded CIJ era, this 2004 example pairs classic Mustang character with the exceptional fit and finish Japanese Fender instruments are known for. Finished in timeless Vintage White, it delivers a clean, understated look that suits the model perfectly.

The basswood body keeps the instrument lightweight and resonant, while the bolt-on maple neck features a comfortable slim C-shaped profile and the famously playable 24" short scale length. The shorter scale gives the strings a slightly softer feel, making bends effortless and chords comfortable, while also contributing to the Mustang’s lively, percussive attack. The rosewood fingerboard is smooth and responsive across 22 frets, making it an ideal guitar for rhythm work, lead lines, and everything in between.

Electronics feature a pair of traditional Mustang single-coil pickups paired with the iconic slider switching system, offering a surprising amount of tonal flexibility. From bright, cutting bridge tones to warm neck sounds and the distinctive out-of-phase combinations Mustangs are known for, this model covers jangly cleans, garage rock bite, indie textures, and punchy overdriven sounds with ease.

Presented in excellent condition with only light cosmetic wear consistent with age, this guitar has been professionally setup and plays beautifully with low action and accurate intonation. Complete with a non-original hard shell case and original paperwork & tremolo arm, this is a fantastic Japanese-made Mustang ready for stage, studio or collection.
