A striking Japanese-made interpretation of the earliest Stratocaster designs, the Traditional ’50s Stratocaster combines classic 1950s Fender styling with a selection of premium appointments that set it apart from more conventional examples. Built by Dyna Gakki in Japan in 2018, this example features a lightweight ash body finished in translucent white blonde, allowing the natural grain of the timber to remain visible beneath the finish. An anodized aluminium pickguard and full gold hardware package complete the look, giving the guitar an unmistakably upmarket appearance while retaining the clean aesthetic of an early-’50s Stratocaster. At just 3.4kg, it is particularly comfortable and well balanced in the hands.

The one-piece maple neck continues the traditional ’50s specification, featuring black dot inlays and a medium U profile with the substantial, reassuring grip associated with early Fender necks. A traditional 25.5" scale length, 7.25" fingerboard radius and 42mm bone nut provide an authentically vintage playing platform, while 21 vintage-style nickel silver frets further reinforce the old-school Fender feel. Finished in gloss polyester, the neck has a smooth and substantial feel in the hand, offering plenty of support for chord work while remaining comfortable and responsive for lead playing. Electronics consist of three Fender Vintage Style single coils, each measuring 5.1kOhms for an evenly balanced and distinctly vintage-output pickup set. The neck delivers warm, rounded tones with excellent clarity, the middle provides the open chime and articulation synonymous with a good Stratocaster, while the bridge offers a brighter attack with plenty of definition and cut. Combined with the traditional five-way selector, the three pickups cover the complete range of classic Strat sounds, from sparkling cleans and hollow intermediate-position tones through to crisp blues and driven rock sounds.

Presented in basically unplayed and brand-nerw condition, this example has been very well preserved with virtually no signs of use whatsoever. The guitar has been professionally setup with D’Addario 10-46s and plays beautifully with comfortable low action, excellent intonation and stable tuning throughout. A particularly distinctive variation on Fender Japan’s Traditional ’50s platform, its combination of lightweight ash construction, translucent white blonde finish, anodized aluminium pickguard, gold hardware and vintage-spec maple neck gives it an unmistakable premium character while retaining the classic feel and tone of a traditional ’50s Stratocaster.
