2020s Artist AS30 Blue Flame Electric Guitar HSS (w/ Gig Bag)

A feature-packed modern take on the classic Stratocaster platform, the Artist AS30 combines familiar styling and ergonomics with a surprisingly premium selection of appointments. This example features a roasted poplar body topped with a figured flame maple veneer and finished in striking transparent Blue Flame, allowing the figuring of the timber to remain clearly visible beneath the finish. The white pearloid pickguard and matching pickup covers provide a sharp contrast against the blue top, while the contoured double-cutaway body retains the comfortable balance and familiar feel associated with the traditional Stratocaster design. At 3.5kg, it is comfortably weighted and well balanced in the hands.

The one-piece roasted maple neck continues the guitar’s more upmarket specification, featuring black dot inlays and a comfortable Modern C profile. A traditional 25.5" scale length is paired with a 9.5" fingerboard radius and 42mm ABS nut, providing a familiar playing platform that strikes a practical balance between chord work and lead playing. The 22 medium jumbo 25% nickel silver frets provide plenty of room for clean bends and vibrato, while the satin urethane neck finish gives the rear of the neck a smooth, fast feel in the hand. The roasted maple construction also gives the neck its distinctive caramel colouring, complementing the vivid Blue Flame body particularly well. Fret life is solid at 100% here with no playwear.

Electronics consist of an Alnico V HSS pickup set, with single coils in the neck and middle positions measuring 5.5kOhms and 5.6kOhms respectively, paired with a 7.3kOhms Alnico V bridge humbucker. The neck provides a warm, rounded voice with plenty of Strat-style clarity, while the middle delivers the open chime and articulation expected from a traditional single coil. The bridge humbucker adds considerably more body and output for driven sounds, while a dedicated mini-toggle coil split allows it to be switched to a leaner single-coil voice when required. Combined with the five-way selector, the arrangement gives the AS30 an impressively broad tonal range, extending from sparkling cleans and hollow intermediate sounds through to thicker rock and higher-gain tones.

Presented in excellent and completely unplayed condition, this example has been very well preserved with no playwear evident. The guitar has been professionally set up with D’Addario 10-46s and plays beautifully with comfortable low action, excellent intonation and stable tuning throughout. Offering an unusually substantial specification for its price point, the combination of roasted poplar construction, figured flame maple veneer, one-piece roasted maple neck, Alnico V HSS electronics and coil-splitting functionality makes the AS30 a particularly versatile modern Strat-style instrument, while its vivid Blue Flame finish gives it a distinctive appearance well beyond that of a conventional Stratocaster copy. Comes with a fitted gig bag.
