Greco VB-360 Hofner Style Beatle Bass Hollowbody
Probably most accurately described as the bass guitar equivalent of those old station wagons with the wooden panels on the side, the classic Hofner violin bass is an instrument that needs no introduction. If you don't know who made this particular style of bass famous, you've probably been living under an extremely large boulder your entire life. Because of this fame by association, many companies have copied this legendary little bass and made it their own, including none other than the Fujigen factory in Japan. There are a few different levels made under the Greco moniker, this one being the bolt-on VB-360. Spruce top with a maple back, the bass is fully hollow and has a beautiful open sound to it. The original Maxon pickups are chimey and full and run through various tone caps in the control section to shape the sound. Also on board is a completely redunant bass cut switch, if that's your thing.
This bass has had a few modifications done over the years, including an upgrade to Gotoh machine heads, a new bridge, aftermarket truss rod cover and a perspex pickguard installed. The bass sounds absolutely fantastic and has a slinky low action with no dead spots. Truss rod is functioning well and the bass intonates surprisingly accurately. Fully setup and serviced with 45-100s, we've also upgraded the jack to a Switchcraft USA socket for strong, consistent signal. Seriously, this thing is so much fun to play. Comes with a gig bag!
