Early 1970s Greco SE-600 Stratocaster (3 Tone Sunburst Relic) (MIJ Matsumoku)

A top of the line Stratocaster in Greco's pre-serial era 1974 catalog, the SE-600 represented the best Stratocaster model on offer from Greco at the time, with high attention to detail, quality hardware and excellent craftsmanship throughout. Made from rock solid ash with a one piece maple neck, this guitar is packed with tone and has lived a very interesting life, having been professionally refretted with jumbo fretwire and large areas of the sunburst finish having been worn down to bare wood!

The one piece maple neck has a beautiful C shape carve to it; not too thick and not too thin, this profile is right in the middle and will suit just about any player after a comfortable vintage feel. The 42mm bone nut allows any sized hand to get comfortably around the neck and the 7.25" radius offers up that vintage vibe and feel. Greco star machine heads and double string tree setup means tuning stability is nice and solid.

The original electronics are completely untouched and in excellent working order, featuring a trio of original Maxon single coils that offer beautiful low output single coil charm that you'd expect from an early 70s Strat. The original 3-way switch functions perfectly and is a funky touch for those who aren't too fussed about the inbetween positions. You won't miss them though; these single coils are rich and sparkly with a wide tonal palette on tap here.

In well played and obviously VERY well worn condition, this guitar has been well loved but is ready to rock for another few decades at least! 100% original aside from the jumbo refret (which we should also mention is an excellent job and has just been levelled, crowned and polished for optimal playability), this guitar has been professionally setup and serviced with 10-46s and is playing like butter. If you're looking for a classic Strat with big frets and a big vintage vibe, look no further.
