Early 1970s Ibanez 2350 Les Paul Gold Top (w/ Hiscox Hard Case)
The only true "lawsuit" lawsuit-era guitar, the Ibanez 2350 Les Paul was the guitar that flew just a little too close to the sun. The Gib... sun. Gibson. Gibson went to sue them because their headstock was identical in every way. They settled out of court, and Ibanez changed their headstock shape. Everyone was friends again! This is a pre-lawsuit 2350 with the infamous headstock, and oh boy is this a great guitar in really great shape!
These things are normally battered, bruised, missing their logo or graced with excessive cracks, holes and splits. This one has precisely none of that and presents in fantastic original condition aside from a newly installed nut and changed strap pins. The finish is bright and very VERY gold with gold hardware that has tarnished over its 50 year lifespan, however is rock solid and functions perfectly. Lots of binding, lots of gold and lots of beautiful tone from the original Maxon pickups which are slightly hotter in the 8k range than what we normally see from this era of Maxons. They've got stacks of bite and loads of tone on tap!
Professionally setup with 10-46s, it's playing very nicely on the original frets which have about 85-90% life left! No cracks, breaks or structural issues. It's an absolute ripper of a guitar and you can laugh at all your friends that have Ibanezs without Gibson headstocks. Comes with a very nice UK made Hiscox case!
