Early 1970s Ibanez 2354 SG Style Guitar Walnut (w/ OHSC)

Produced in the Matsumoku factory in the early 1970s (pre-serial), this is a gorgeous example of Ibanez's early SG clone, the 2354 model. A bolt on neck model, the construction of the 2354 differed from Gibson's set neck SGs as a way of keeping manufacturing costs low in order to pass this saving on to the consumer. Ibanez's model shared visual cues but differed in many ways, with altered measurements, proportions and subtle styling elements to set them apart. A completely unmoslested and 100% original example, this is a perfect addition to anyones arsenal.

The 3 piece maple neck is crafted to a perfect slim D profile with beautifully rolled fingerboard edges for a perfectly played in feel. This neck feels amazing and is super fast to play despite the high gloss finish. The frets are low "fretless wonder" style for fast note articulation, showing moderate signs of wear with approximately 80% fret life left with light pitting.

Electronics are immaculate and all original with a set of Super 60 humbuckers delivering classic 70s Ibanez tone. With clear crystal clear frequency response across the board, these pickups are balanced and full and are capable of a wide variety of musical genres, from jazz to hard rock, punk to pop!

In exceptional used condition with only a few minor bumps and bruises, this 2354 has been professionally setup with 10-46s and is playing like a dream with a smooth, low action, straight neck and perfect intonation. The guitar is free from any structural breaks, cracks or repairs. Comes with its original hard shell case!
