Greco EB-300
The Greco EB-300 is Greco Japan's take on the famous EB bass made by Gibson in the 60s and 70s. This is an early pre-serial 1970s model (no serials before 1975) and is equipped with a fat Gibson style Maxon pickup in the neck position for all your doom and psychadelic tones. The body and 3 piece neck are mahogany with a dark cherry finish, the heavily figured mahogany looks great through the transparent nitrocellulose finish and is aged to perfection. This one has the early Greco bridge design featuring duel saddles and a slidable muting system to deaden the strings for added tonal versatility. These bridges often give way to tension after many decades of hard use so to see in one in almost perfect condition is particularly rare.
The bass is in great condition for its age with the expected amount of wear for a vintage guitar, all original parts and no cracks or breaks. A fair amount of edge wear and nitro checking is visible but only adds to the vibe and feel pf the instrument.!The pickup is warm and has a great clarity and punch to it, the frets are original and although naturally low, have loads of life left in them and the bass is playing super smoothly with a nice medium/low action coupled with a very responsive truss rod. This guitar has been professionally set up with 45100s and a full service, we've gone ahead and installed a new Switchcraft USA jack socket as well as some new chrome scratchplate screws to make this bass really pop. As an added bonus the bass comes with its original hard shell case, also in great condition!
