The HILS HNB5 is built for players who want the full authority of a 5-string bass without fighting a heavy, oversized instrument. Its headless design keeps the bass compact, balanced and comfortable, while the 33" to 35" multi-scale layout gives the low B string extra punch, clarity and tension without making the upper register feel like a workout—whether you're playing worship, metal, fusion, pop or weekend gigs.

The longer 35" scale on the bass side keeps the low B focused and defined, while the shorter 33" treble side keeps the higher strings fast and natural under your fingers. 24 stainless-steel frets and a smooth walnut fretboard round out a neck that feels modern without feeling strange.

Custom single-coil pickups run through an onboard active preamp with 3-band EQ, giving quick access to deep lows, punchy mids and crisp top-end detail. A blend control dials in everything from round neck-pickup warmth to tighter bridge-pickup attack, and an active/passive push/pull volume control adds extra flexibility when you need it.

At 8lbs and just 41.5" overall length, the HNB5 in gloss ivory is light enough for long sets and travel, with an Alchemy Mono-Rail Bridge, 18mm string spacing, factory-installed D'Addario EXL170-5 strings and an included deluxe gig bag ready for real-world use out of the box.

How much is shipping?

We offer free Australia-wide shipping for orders over $200 via standard courier services. For smaller items such as small parts and screws, we send via Australia Post regular mail service. All items below $200 incur a flat $12 shipping charge. Express services are also available at an extra cost, just select it at the checkout and we'll get your order out extra fast!

How long does shipping take?

It varies based on the destination and the products ordered. Orders for items that are in stock with our Lewisham store "135 New Canterbury Road, Lewisham 2049", are usually shipped same day, however items ordered from "Deep Tone Warehouse Supply" are special order items that are not stocked in the store. These items can take 2-4 business days to arrive to us from the supplier; from there, the item will be dispatched from our store and the nominated method of shipping will be followed:

For "Standard" shipping:
  • VIC, SA and NSW: 2-4 days
  • QLD: 3-5 days
  • NT, WA and TAS: 5-10 days +
For "Express" shipping:
  • VIC, SA and NSW: 1-2 days
  • QLD: 1-2 days
  • NT, WA and TAS: 1-3 days

These estimates do not apply if the destination is regional or remote. Once orders leave our warehouse we have no control over the actual shipping time, however we'll do everything we can to ensure a prompt and problem-free delivery experience.
