Up for sale is this insanely cool Fresher FR-384 bass, a directly proportional copy of Rickenbacker's 4001 design and a seriously sick bass at a fraction of the price of the real thing! Made by the Matsumoku factory in the 1970s, it's finished in a tasty satin black and sports a dual set of Maxon single coils that have all that signature Rick tone and sound absolutely huge! The body consists of a maple laminate design with a 3 piece maple neck bolted straight to the body, a 34" full scale neck with a lacquered karin fingerboard. The hardware consists of a combination of both nickel and chrome parts and the bass retains all original parts, including the original bridge pickup cover.

This is a truly fantastic bass with superb pickups and great playability. We've given it the full restoration treatment, every inch of this bass has been lovingly cleaned, restored and set up to perfection. Running 45-100s with a slick action, this 4001 copy even features Rickenbacker's stereo output, allowing you to run each pickup separately to 2 different amps if your heart desires. In great all original condition, it's hard to believe this bass is 40+ years old. Frets are at a solid 98% with virtually no wear, and the bass is free from any cracks, breaks or structural issues.

We offer free Australia-wide shipping for orders over $200 via standard courier services. For smaller items such as small parts and screws, we send via Australia Post regular mail service. All items below $200 incur a flat $8.99 shipping charge. Express services are also available at an extra cost, just select it at the checkout and we'll get your order out extra fast!

How long does shipping take?

It varies based on the destination and the products ordered. Orders for items that are in stock with our Lewisham store "135 New Canterbury Road, Lewisham 2049", are usually shipped same day, however items ordered from "Deep Tone Warehouse Supply" are special order items that are not stocked in the store. These items can take 2-4 business days to arrive to us from the supplier; from there, the item will be dispatched from our store and the nominated method of shipping will be followed:

For "Standard" shipping:
  • VIC, SA and NSW: 2-4 days
  • QLD: 3-5 days
  • NT, WA and TAS: 5-10 days +
For "Express" shipping:
  • VIC, SA and NSW: 1-2 days
  • QLD: 1-2 days
  • NT, WA and TAS: 1-3 days
