Late 1970s Takamine F-385 12 String Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar (MIJ)

Made in the late 1970s in Takamine's factory in Nakatsugawa, Gifu, Japan, this F-385 is a wonderfully crafted mid-range 12 string offering from the Japanese manufacturer, sporting a laminated spruce top with a mahogany back, sides and neck. A very accessible and comfortable guitar to play, this particular F-385 has wonderfully rich and deep tone thanks to it's full dreadnought sized body and extremely resonant top.

Featuring a 25.3" scale length neck, it sports a very comfortable nut width of 47mm and a rosewood fingerboard with a 9.5" radius, with gently rolled fingerboard edges making playability and fingerboard accessiblity a breeze. Featuring its original nickel silver frets that have been levelled, crowned and polished, the guitar is playing nicely with absolutely no dead spots or buzzing, and 100% life on the freshly levelled frets. The Martin-esque headstock sports open gear machine heads for good tuning stability and the original Takamine & Co. logo.

Freshly serviced and setup with Dunlop 10-47s, the guitar has a very comfortable action up and down the neck with a functional truss rod. The guitar is free from any structural issues, breaks or cracks, however does have an appropriate level of wear expected from a 50 year old acoustic instrument with its fair share of vibey playwear and some dings and dents present. Someone definitely loved playing this guitar and it has aged beautifully over its 50 year lifespan. Overall the guitar presents in excellent condition and has wonderfully rich harmonic content when played in any style.
