Late 1970s Yamaha Studio Lord SL700C Les Paul Custom Red Sunburst (MIJ)

Made between 1979-1981, the Yamaha SL700C was Yamaha's version of the Les Paul Custom and featured all the decorative features of the Gibson couterpart. Solid mahogany body with a solid maple cap and mahogany neck with an ebony fingerboard, the specs of the SL700C very closely mirror Gibson's and feature the exceptional quality we've come to expect from 70s Japanese copies.

The set mahogany neck is a classic slim taper 60s profile with naturally rounded edges from years of playwear. The ebony fretboard features rectangular pearloid inlays, and the headstock features multiply binding with a double arrowhead inlay in pearloid, as well as a pearloid Yamaha logo. Frets have plenty of life left at a comfortable 90% with no pitting or dents visible.

Electronic wise, this SL700C is equipped with a set of very nice low output L4 humbuckers with factory equipped coil splitting capabality independently for both pickups controlled by push/push functions on the tone pots. The low output pickups have a great dynamic range and a little extra top end sparkle thanks to the lower resistance.

Fully serviced and setup with 10-46s, the guitar shows signs of playwear with some dents, dings and scratches through, but all is honest wear and in keeping with the age of the guitar. Plenty of pitting and tarnishing on the brass hardware and a few replaced screws, however aside from this the guitar is 100% original and ready to rock!
