Mid-1990s Maton M125 "Natural Series" Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar (Made in Australia)
Made by Maton in Melbourne in the mid-1990s, this is an M125 "Natural Series" and is a quality mid-range offering from Maton, crafted from high standard Queensland maple and featuring a nice, thick solid sitka spruce top. Designed and built to be a total workhorse, the M125 is a no-nonsense, full body dreadnought with a big, warm sound and excellent playability.
The neck is crafted from a solid piece of Queensland maple and feels absolutely excellent in the hands. Neck profile is a hefty medium D shaped profile finished in a medium gloss that has been wonderfully played in. The fingerboard is expertly crafted from Indian rosewood with 21 medium frets. The frets are in great shape with approximately 80% fret life left with minor signs of playwear and pitting. Action is beautifully low with no dead spots or buzzing.
Overall, the guitar is in excellent condition and has been well loved over its 30 year lifespan. Played in to perfection, the wood has aged nicely to possess a beautifully warm, thick and organic tone that makes this a very hard guitar to put down. Playability is excellent and the guitar is free from any structural issues, cracks or breaks. Not without it's fair share of dings, dents and playwear, this guitar has an excellent vibe and will suit anyone looking for a guitar with a real story, ready to add their own chapters!
